The content of harmful impurity elements should be as little as possible and not exceed the standard, so as to avoid delaying the smelting time due to the adjustment of the composition, and the molten steel will be scrapped due to the unqualified composition, which will increase the material consumption and power consumption.
Charges must be properly classified according to chemical composition, impurity content and lump size.
The size of the charge block should be adapted to the frequency of the power supply, and the frequency of the power supply used by the induction furnace decreases with the increase of the furnace capacity.
Therefore, large-capacity intermediate frequency furnaces can use large pieces of charge, and small-capacity induction furnaces can use small pieces of charge. The distribution of the induced current in the multi-metal conductor obeys the skin effect.
The induced current in the charge and molten steel should decrease sequentially from the surface to the center according to the skin.
The induced current in the charge mainly penetrates into the deep layer, and the heat of the strengthening hot charge is mainly supplied from the surface layer, so that the entire cross section of the charge can obtain the same temperature.
With the prolongation of the heating time, the heat lost from the charge to the surrounding medium increases, so the heat rate decreases.
If the penetration depth and the charge geometry are properly matched, the heating time is short and the heat rate is high.
When adding the charge, be sure to keep the charge clean. Dirty and messy charge is bad.
On the basis of clarifying the composition of various charge materials, the ingredients should be carefully calculated. When batching, be sure to take into account the decarbonization and Si increase caused by “self-boiling” in the late smelting stage.
When charging, check whether there are inflammable, explosive and other harmful substances mixed in the charge. If found, remove it immediately. It is strictly forbidden to add cold material and wet material directly into the molten steel. After the molten liquid is filled to the upper part, it is strictly forbidden to add large pieces of material to prevent the formation of capping.
The intermediate frequency induction furnace is an induction coil made of copper tube wound on the outside of the furnace, and the metal charge is loaded in the furnace.
When the alternating current passes through the induction coil, an alternating magnetic flux is generated in the first coil, and through the closed metal charge, an induced current is generated within a certain depth on the surface of the charge, so that the charge is heated and melted.
When repairing the furnace and pounding the crucible, it is strictly forbidden to mix iron filings and iron oxide, and the pounding crucible must be dense.
